Personality: At first, many would see Althalos *or Aric as he prefers* to be cold and distant, talking down onto anyone he comes into contact with, even to his own parents. However, if one breaks down his cold exterior, they would find a guilt ridden teen who placed barriers up in fear of experiencing emotional pain.

History:

Aric was one of a set of twin boys born into the household of the noble family of Clerinell, a family of Mystic Knights. A family full of honor and superstition, it was known throughout the bloodlines of the Clerinell family that twins were a sign of taboo. There is a process to break the taboo however and the first step was the raise the twins to grow up with each other till their coming of age. While growing up in the Clerinell household, Aric was treated with high superstition, some of the family members even going as far as forming the cross with their fingers whenever he enters a room. However he is not alone in this kind of treatment, which was his twin brother, Actaeus (Or Tae as Aric like to call him). The twins were always found together, being each others moral support as they grew up in within the household ranging from training together to eating together. Thanks to this, the twins became close, just as the family had hoped. However, the day Aric and Actaeus came of age, the reason of why they grew together were revealed to them by the adults. In order for the taboo to be broken, the twins have to battle till one dies. Shocked and appalled, Aric refused to fight against his twin brother however, the adults threaten that if they do not, then they shall kill them both. Faced with an Ultimatum, Aric and Actaeus dueled and soon, Aric gained the upper hand.  However, he cannot deal the finishing blow to his twin and refused when ordered to by the adults. As such, one of the trainers drew his sword in an attempt to slay them both. To save Aric, Actaeus threw himself into his brother's sword, making Aric the winner, and in the eyes of the older household, breaking the taboo.

Filled with despair, Aric could do nothing as he held his dying twin in his arms, hearing him whisper, "Live for the both of us." before his life faded from his eyes.

Since then, Aric was filled with rage towards his own family, even when they started treating him as one of their own.

Etc:
-Aric hates mirrors. Mainly because everytime he sees his own reflection, he sees his twin and it wracks him with despair. As such, he doesn't have any in his room.
-Aric calls his parents by name, Rowan (Father) and Antastas (Mother). The reasoning is like the rest of the household, his parents treated him and Actaeus with superstition. In other words, they weren't treated as their children. After Actaeus' death, Aric was then accepted into the arms of his parents however, thanks to past experiences, refuses to acknowledge them as even blood relatives.
-The Greatsword he wields is the same sword that took the life of his twin. The reason why Aric wields it is to remind him of what the Clerinell household had done to him and Actaeus.
-Thanks to his experience with 'superstition' in his family, Aric hates it to the point where even the mere mention of it will kindle his anger.
-Aric's family haled from the land of Burwell however migrated to Velio for reasons unknown.
